Why you should save those lovely corks

So my mother has always saved all of her wine corks. She always said she didn't know what she was going to do with them but one day she would have enough to do a big project. One day when I was out thrifting I found this giant frame! I had no idea what to do with it but I bought it for $5. Then I saw my moms HUGE collection of corks. I sent my husband to home depot to get wood for the frame (about $8.00 and they cut it). My mother gave me her collection for this project and I still have tons and tons of corks left over! It took me two days (on and off) and a bottle of wine to finish this project. I just hot glued all the corks on. There were so many different brands it really came out nicely. I love my "Cork"board even though I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or sell it yet. It would make a pretty cool coffee table if I put some glass on top.  I can't wait to do more projects with the rest of the corks!

We have a client wanting to do something different to their front door! Whenever we have a client asking for something we like to make a post about it. We figure if one of our clients is asking for it there are tons of other people trying to do the same thing. I have shared some front door inspiration with you. (of course most of them are in the teal family. I couldn't help myself) Enjoy!

OUR WEDDING

So after a year of planning and stressing and enjoying every second of the process the wedding has finally came and went. Almost all of our details were DIY. We made our cake toppers, centerpieces, decor, room dividers, lace and burlap runners, programs, matchboxes, ISpy cards, even reupholstered the couch in our lounge area! It was so much fun and I can't wait to plan another wedding! (not for me of course.. for my clients!)

If you have been following the planning process on our blog you know that our save the dates were caricatures of Sean and I! We wanted to keep everything upbeat and fun! So to go along with our save the dates we decided to have a caricature artist at the wedding! He was a hit and did an amazing job! He did a "head" every three minutes. His name was Dino DiArtist.  There was always a line but it moved fast. I think almost everyone at the wedding got one done!

Our venue was all in doors. We originally wanted an outdoor wedding but in South Florida in November I wasn't gutsy enough to risk it and ended up going with a venue that was under our budget! It was an empty canvas and we had fun decorating it.
Our ceremony was in the "Theater". It was literally a theater with theater seating. (they pushed back the seats and we did pipe & drape to cover them)
We went to home depot and bought some wood and henges and wallpapered them to make the room dividers at the ceremony. It was cheap, easy, and fun!
We also did the whole "Wine box and letters" at our ceremony. We found this really cool old wine box at Marshall's for $5.00 and went out and bought a nice bottle of wine. The night before the wedding we wrote letters to each other. If we ever come across hard times in our marriage we will open the box , read the letters, and have some wine. It was really nice to write the letters the night before.

This old suitcase was a flea market find!
The "Cards" sign was made with some paint I had lying around and Burlap off a giant bolt I bought.

Pictures do this dress NO JUSTICE!! It is a Casa Blanca 1914 gown

These were the bracelets the bridesmaids wore

These little tags took about 2 hours or more to make. The MOH and I had a bottle of wine so it wasn't too bad. I bought a giant roll of kraft paper for $2.00 and I had a tag punch out in my craft room already. We stamp punched and glued away. You can't see it here but each tag had a different wallpaper design on the back. Added a nice little touch.

We made the burlap and lace table runners!

Hand painted these little guys! You can see the whole process in the blog
